At our South Cambridge hydrotherapy centre, our purpose built in-ground pool is 3.5m x 6m and the optimum size for your dog to work freely, while still under total supervision of the therapist. It is heated to 29 degrees and includes a Brilix swim jet which can be used to increase resistance, if needed. We have a shallow ramp and resting platform built in to the pool which offers a feeling of solidity and safety beneath your dogs feet when entering and exiting the pool and between.
Throughout the whole canine hydrotherapy centre, we adhere to a strict hygiene policy, water chemicals are tested throughout the day, our Ruffwear buoyancy coats and harnesses are disinfected with Safe4 products between clients and our aim is to provide the same level of service whether you are the first or last customer of the day.
Here at Three Counties, we are level 3 Certified, fully insured and are registered with NARCH - the governing body of Canine Hydrotherapists.
Our commitment to you as hydrotherapists, is to make sure that you and your dog receive the best and most appropriate rehabilitation and care, while undergoing this therapeutic process. As part of fulfilling this contract to you, we keep up to date with the latest scientific research and training, ensuring your dog is in the best therapuetic hands.
At our Cambridgeshire Hydrotherapy Centre, we are registered suppliers of the entire Ruffwear range, we have found that their products are so useful and well made, that it made sense to offer their products to our customers. The 'Climate Changer' is an excellent coat for keeping warm and drying off after a swim, and we use their buoyancy coats and harnesses during every session. We also recommend the 'Front Range Harness' as a secure, balanced harness which will not restrict shoulder movement during land exercise. Anything which we do not have in stock, we can order for you, arriving usually within two days.

Note the flexion and extension of both the front and hind legs, the additional energy required to propel her through the water and the use of her tail as a rudder. I love this view as it gives such a clear insight into how fantastic hydrotherapy is for assisting in the rehabilitation of dogs suffering from orthopaedic conditions, whether pre or post operative or in conservative management. - If only I could have found the 'Jaws' music to go with it!!
'I have been taking our Labrador, Finn to Three Counties for the last 3 months following surgery for elbow displaysia. Finn was a rescue dog and had not had the best start in life and when he became increasingly lame on his front right leg we were shocked to discover that he needed an operation. So surgery followed and a fragment of bone was removed. His recovery was hard work, on lead only in the garden for two weeks and very gradual build up over the next 8-10 weeks but then the vet suggested Hydrotherapy and it has made an amazing difference. He has grown stronger and his elbow has been helped massively by the sessions in the pool. It has also had the benefit of improving his muscle tone in his hips as well, he is just stronger and more toned all over. Finn loves his time in the pool and although he can be lazy and loves a float Helen ensures he works and does what he needs to do. One thing that shines through for me is Helens obvious love for what she does and the dogs she is treating. She is so patient and kind, Helen took time to make sure that Finn was completely confident in the pool and I know that Finn is totally safe and happy at all times. Thanks to Helen we now feel we have got our dog back, he can be just like any other 3 year old Labrador and that makes us,and him, so happy.'
